Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, all tourist destinations including the Valley Of Flowers were closed in March this year. But slowly as everything is opening up, the tourism industry is also reviving. 

As Unlock 3.0 began from 1st August, the Uttarakhand government opened the Valley Of Flowers for tourists. Valley of flowers, a UNESCO world heritage site is set up in the beautiful hills of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. This scenic valley is home to a variety of endemic flora and fauna.

Every year thousands of trekkers and other tourists flung to this beautiful Valley to witness the magic of nature. But this year it was closed for tourist due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Valley Of Flowers generally remains open for visitors every year from 1st June To 31st October.

To visit this nature gem, you have had to follow certain guidelines and rules issued by the Uttarakhand government. 

Here are the guidelines and rules which you have to follow while registering yourself for visiting the Valley of flowers

  • You have to submit your COVID-19 negative report 72 hours before the visit. The test report will be valid only if it’s done from ICMR certified lab. This is a must as you can’t enter the state without registration.
  • You have to upload the report on the Dehradun Smart City website with other details. Once you upload the report and fill details, you will get e-pass after all the verification.
  • In case you don’t have a COVID-19 report, you have to apply for the e-pass directly. And then you have to book a hotel in advance for 7 days. You will be put in quarantine at this hotel for 7 days on entering Uttarakhand. After 7 days of quarantine, you can visit the Valley of flowers.
  • You need to produce a hard copy of your e-pass at the time of entering the Uttarakhand state. And you are also required to download the Arogya Setu App on your mobile.
  • In case you are from within the state, you have to just register yourself on the Dehradun Smart City website.

So, if you are planning to visit the Valley Of flowers, make sure you first follow all the above guidelines. This will surely make your travel easy.
